Going out to eat is just part of how we socialize. Its not uncommon for many of us to go out twice three times or even more often each week. And thats fine! – The challenge is figuring out WHAT to eat and how to balance portion sizes especially if youre on a weight loss journey. – I used to view each trip to a restaurant as a free for all. Which is why I was struggling to meet my fitness goals. You just cant expect to go out 3 times a week and indulge on drinks burgers fries and dessert and expect to lose weight. – Now hear me out. I think you SHOULD enjoy those things in moderation but the truth is that those types of meals carry so many calories that having them frequently is likely putting you in a calorie surplus which makes losing weight impossible. – The good news is that there are a lot of restaurants that specialize in serving fresh ingredients with lots of veggies and lean proteins. Go for those if you can! If not focus on these few tips: – 1. Look at the menu ahead of time. Choose what youre going to eat before you go out. Going in with a plan is key! – 2. Choose a meal thats high in lean protein (think fish chicken turkey etc.) with a solid serving of veggies on the side. – 3. Drink water with your meal. You can literally save yourself hundreds of calories by skipping the sodas or cocktails. – 4. Eat slowly and mindfully. Pay attention to your hunger cues. Eat until youre full and actually think about what youre eating how it tastes etc. – @kurebar has done it again They are one of my favorite places to get a healthy meal if we feel like going out.
